In the classic musical MGM film, the Winkies did not strictly wear the color yellow as described in Baum's book. “The Wizard of Oz” aired on national TV for the first time in November 1956, and beginning in 1959 was shown once a year until 1991. Released almost 80 years ago, the movie is an all-time classic. They are mostly known for their infamous chant, which goes, "Oh-Ee-Yah! Ee-Oh-Ah!"
